Outfit: Pringle of Scotland
Take a look at this gorgeous blue 100% Merino wool jumper I bought in the Trinity House Hospice shop in Streatham. It was £3.50 (reduced from £7!). I spotted the red ‘Pringle of Scotland’ label from far away and swooped in, magpie-like, to ‘rescue’ it.
I’m wearing this with a black wool coat with leather sleeves, black skinny trousers, a crisp white shirt, black high heeled slouchy suede boots and black sunnies.
You look like a star! That’s an awesome find and will definitely keep you warm. Saw how cold it got in the UK, on the news! Stay warm :-)
Thank you so much Agy! I am glad you liked this look, the jumper is 100% wool and really thick. It’s definitely going to be keeping me warm until spring arrives! (Hopefully not long now!).
Great find! I always look out for wool jumpers in charity shops. Even if they’re moth-eaten you can felt them and use them for other things. I added felt elbow patches to a jumper with holey elbows, and I’m still planning a felt Peter Pan collar at some point.
Loving your coat as well – where’s that from?
Thanks! This one is just so soft and thick… feels great to wear. Coat is from Zara (a while back). It looks great but is actually one of the least practical garments I own – there are no buttons or zip so it just hangs open all the time.
Oh, a beautiful coat with no way to close! Once, I had that same problem with a jacket. I bought two of this big metal things, because they cannot be seen from the outside, and it worked. Sorry, I don´t know its name in English!

Actually, that’s not a bad idea! I could easily add a hook and eye – I like the one that looks like cord on the link you posted. Thanks!
What an excellent look! Love it!! :)
Thank you :)
Love. The look is fab and you are a girl after my own heart. So clever with your wardrobe! Where indeed is the coat from – it is a beauty??
Hi, thanks for commenting! Glad you liked this look. The coat is from Zara though I got it a while ago. They do great coats there (in fact, great everything!).
Great outfit! Seeing those row houses makes me miss living in England. Thanks for taking your pictures outdoors! Haha
Haha thanks… it was flipping freezing
Fantastic jumper at a bargain price. You disguise how freezing it is despite the sun trying to make an appearance very well;) I think I need to pay a trip to some South London charity shops soon!
Hi Andrea, thanks so much for stopping by and leaving a comment. Yes, it was sub-zero temperatures when we took these pictures at the weekend – I am trying not to grimace. Definitely hit up South London for charity shops – my favourite so far is Streatham, highly recommended!
What a bargain! And I LOVE that coat – it may be impractical, but it looks amazing!

Thanks :) Yep, the coat is a favourite but it rarely gets worn – I’ve given up waiting for warmer weather though
Great Find!!! Looks great on you too!
Thank you very much! :)
Great look! The flash of blue looks great with the all black ensemble, but the star here is those fabulous boots!
Thank you TaraLee :) I agree that the boots are the star, they’re KILLER!
Oooh nice jacket and love the boots too :)
Thank you very much :)
Love merino, we are just coming into Autumn here now in NZ (had to scrape ice off my car windows this morning!) and I love this colour, preppy chic :) merino becomes like a 2nd skin come winter! Going to search the 2nd hand shops next week thanks for the inspiration! Great blog too, came here via Re-Fashionista.
It’s still icy here in London even though we’re supposed to be well into spring! So the winter woolies are still making an appearance! Thanks for the comment – glad you like the jumper! :)
You look great Sally, marvellous jumper bargain, I love your jacket and boots too, also reminiscing on life in London with the backdrop of your photos :)
Thanks Erica – yes a couple of people commented that the pics are very ‘London’ :)
The sweater is beautiful, but even more so–that coat is fabulous!!
Thanks so much – yes the coat is one of my favourite pieces, despite its limited practicality!
I love your blog. You are so creative! However this time i got a bit dissapointed when you didn’t do anything to the jumper. I have a similar looking red jumper in wool but it is way too big and I am trying to figure out how to remake it so it fits me. So when I saw the first pic I figured that this was exactly what I needed… Anyway, you look great in this outfit and I look forward to seeing what you will do next!
Hi Stefanie, it really wasn’t necessary to do anything to this jumper as it fit perfectly.
Casey has a great jumper resizing tutorial here if that helps.

As an American I can’t help but giggle my butt off. Pringle’s are a processed potato chip that come in a tennis cannister over here. I didn’t even know there was a brand called Pringle. That lion is much classier than the Pringle’s guy though. Just in case you are completly confused here is their mascot. https://www.google.com/search?q=pringles+face&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=gxG-UZrjLJStyAGX3YDoDw&ved=0CC0QsAQ&biw=1280&bih=597#tbm=isch&sa=1&q=pringles+guy&oq=pringles+guy&gs_l=img.3..0l7j0i5l2j0i24.6137.6902.0.7146.4.4.0.0.0.0.231.508.1j0j2.3.0…0.0…1c.1.17.img.kQ4ojI4PMCk&bav=on.2,or.r_qf.&bvm=bv.47883778,d.aWc&fp=d00657b86ae97b9f&biw=1280&bih=597
Hi Ronja, we have Pringles (crisps) over here! Pringle of Scotland has been around since 1815 – in fact they invented the twinset. They used to be known for their checked golf sweaters but these days are making all sorts of fashionable things, not only knitwear. http://brand.pringlescotland.com/heritage/history/
